Having Trouble Installing or Opening?
Nearlynx is 100% free & privacy-first. Because independent releases do not use expensive commercial signing certificates, OS security guards may show a first-time verification prompt. Here is how to open it in seconds:
macOS: “App cannot be opened / Unidentified Developer”
Apple Gatekeeper flags apps downloaded outside the App Store on first launch.
Right-Click Open
- Drag Nearlynx.app into your /Applications folder.
- In Finder, Right-Click (or Hold Control and Click) on Nearlynx.
- Select Open from the menu.
- A popup will appear — click the Open button. Done! (Only required once).
Allow in Security Settings
- Open System Settings on your Mac.
- Click Privacy & Security in the sidebar.
- Scroll down to the Security section.
- You will see “Nearlynx was blocked” — click Open Anyway.
xattr -cr /Applications/Nearlynx.appThis removes the quarantine flag placed on the DMG by macOS Safari.
